Rock of Ages - Today Show Poster Contest Winners!

Hey, Rockers!

Hope you all got a chance to see the cast of "Rock of Ages" tear it up on NBC's Today Show yesterday morning (they performed three numbers - "Don't Stop Believin'", "High Enough" and "Here I Go Again" - see the video in the previous blog item!) in front of an enthusiastic, rockin' crowd on Memorial Day.

The enthusiasm for the show was also expressed in artwork, through the many terrific entries in the "Rock of Ages - Today Show Poster Contest" and the powers-that-be have decided that along with a winner of two tickets to an upcoming performance of "Rock of Ages", there are two runners-up who will each win a kickass prize package from the ROA Merchandise Store.

First, the two runners-up...

1) "Setting Broadway on Fire"...Liz Woolf and her lighter poster!

2) "Character Study on the Sunset Strip" - portraits by Monica Simoes

The winning poster garnered praise from such "Rock of Ages" luminaries as director Kristin Hanggi and Associate Costume Designer Karl Ruckdeschel. With her "Marshall Stack / Dean Z Guitar" poster, the winner is Kay Koch!

Congratulations to these three artists on their rad artwork, and thank you to everyone for participating and making the Today Show Plaza ROCK yesterday morning!

Rock on,

Miss Lizzy

New "Rock of Ages" Slogan Contest!

Happy Tuesday, Rockers!

I've just received word of a FANTASTIC new contest for "Rock of Ages" fans!

Here are the details, direct from "Rock of Ages" headquarters in the powder room of the Venus Club:

Hey Rock Fans!

Have you seen ROA and loved it? Have you seen it 20 times and loved it?
Here’s your chance to help pick a super rad slogan for the show!

Write a short and sweet statement that describes the awesomeness of ROA and post it on the Official Rock of Ages Facebook Fan Page Wall. We’ll select the top five and let you guys vote on the best one.

The winner gets a free pair of tix to the show AND their slogan will be used in an ad!

You have until Friday, March 13 at Noon (EST) to post your slogan on the Offical ROA Facebook Fan Page Wall.

Finalists will be announced on Tuesday March 17!

What's a slogan? Here are some examples:

Dumb and Dumber: "What one doesn't have, the other one is missing"

Titanic: "A woman's heart is a deep ocean of secrets"

This is Spinal Tap: "Does for rock and roll what The Sound of Music did for hills"

ROCK ON!

So get your creative thinking caps on and good luck!

Rock of Ages Super Fan Contest Announced!

Hey, rockers!

Direct from Rock of Ages Headquarters in the supply closet of Dupree's Bourbon Room...

Do you fall asleep by counting llamas?

When someone refers to something as "rad", do you want to qualify it by saying "...but not that dumb-a** Rock-Against-Drugs kinda rad?"

Have you been cheering on your favorite sports team and accidentally screamed out "Hooray for Boobies"?

Is your dance alter-ego Hungarian?

If you've answered "Hells, yeah!" to any of the above questions, then enter the Rock of Ages Super Awesome Ultimate Rock Fan Opening Night Challenge!

Here's how:

Forward the code ROCKFAN to your friends, so they can save
up to 50% on Broadway’s most rockin’ show.

Once they buy, get them to
send their confirmation number to you, so you can forward it to AwesomeRockContest@Gmail.com. We'll keep track of your score. The more friends you get to buy tickets (at a super cool price!), the more points you earn. The more points you earn the more stuff you get!

UPDATE: The contest has been amended to reflect the following change to the rules: Each TICKET purchased will now be equivalent to one point in the contest, rather than each confirmation code.

Rock on and good luck!
