Hope you all got a chance to see the cast of "Rock of Ages" tear it up on NBC's Today Show yesterday morning (they performed three numbers - "Don't Stop Believin'", "High Enough" and "Here I Go Again" - see the video in the previous blog item!) in front of an enthusiastic, rockin' crowd on Memorial Day.
The enthusiasm for the show was also expressed in artwork, through the many terrific entries in the "Rock of Ages - Today Show Poster Contest" and the powers-that-be have decided that along with a winner of two tickets to an upcoming performance of "Rock of Ages", there are two runners-up who will each win a kickass prize package from the ROA Merchandise Store.
First, the two runners-up...
1) "Setting Broadway on Fire"...Liz Woolf and her lighter poster!
2) "Character Study on the Sunset Strip" - portraits by Monica Simoes
The winning poster garnered praise from such "Rock of Ages" luminaries as director Kristin Hanggi and Associate Costume Designer Karl Ruckdeschel. With her "Marshall Stack / Dean Z Guitar" poster, the winner is Kay Koch!
Congratulations to these three artists on their rad artwork, and thank you to everyone for participating and making the Today Show Plaza ROCK yesterday morning!
Rock on,
Miss Lizzy
Congratulations Kay. I was standing next to you and your friend much of the time. Your creativity paid off.
